September 27, 2022 – Autumn Is Here – And It's Time for Action!

Over the past few months, I've been preoccupied with the profound challenges we're confronting, some of us more than others obviously. But I don't think any of us are immune to what's going on. There seem to be overall feelings of powerlessness and even anxiety in the face of events affecting us now, with so many factors beyond our control, continued health crises, the U.S. political power struggle, and even my own dear Queen Elizabeth passing on. Well, here and now, I'd like to suggest some ways that you can regain some sense of control. And as we're officially entering autumn, it's a fertile time to put your plans and goals into action!

The first thing you need to do is develop a vision of how you want your life to be, and then include a clear plan of action for how you think you can get there. I'm surprised how often I ask clients about the direction they want to go, only to discover that they're simply wandering along, letting life happen, all the while wishing their dreams or fantasies would come true.

This is where I feel I can make a difference! When we put our minds to it, we have the power to set our own goals, and the energy and desire to make them a reality. Setting goals puts you squarely in charge of your own life, and that's where we all want to be. For that reason, I've decided to share a few simple helpful tips and tricks to make your goal-setting easier and much more successful:

The simple act of putting thoughts or goals on paper helps anchor them in your mind. So, make the extra effort now to record goals weekly — or even daily — and then place that paper somewhere that's readily visible to help you stay focused and goal-centered.

Use positive language when wording your goals because affirmative statements are said to draw positive energy your way. For example, "I'm always on time" is preferable to "I'm never late."

Make sure to word your goals clearly and precisely so that you can home in on exactly what YOU want. Using strong words that evoke emotion and command action helps to call forth the energy needed to move forward.

Envision your goals as something that exists in the present as opposed to the future. For that reason, always write your goals as if they're already happening or had already happened. It's also best to prioritize your goals.

And lastly, when you write down your goals, imagine yourself already being, doing, or having the things that you're dreaming about. This will further energize your dreams and wishes!

I hope that my tips will energize you to pursue your dreams. Of course, this process takes time, and requires patience and problem-solving. And, over time, you'll likely need to readjust your goals. But I feel confident that you can achieve the dreams and goals you set for yourself. I just hope you feel that way as well! Blessings always!
